Meeting between CCC and CCPIT

On 15 February 2017, H.E Nguon Meng Tech, Director General of Cambodia Chamber of Commerce (CCC) has a meeting with Mr. Xu Liang, Deputy Director General, Department of International Relations, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPI) at CCC office.

The meeting aims to discuss 1) the establishment of Lancang-Mekong River Business Council and 2) the development of the China-ASEAN Cross-Border E-commerce Platform.

With explanation of Mr. Xu Liang regarding to the Lancang-Mekong River Business Council, in March 2016 the first leaders’ meeting of the Lancang-Mekong River cooperation was held in Sanya, Hainan Province, China. Premier Li Keqiang gathered with the five leaders from countries along the Mekong River for the first time. Marking the official launch of the Lancang-Mekong River cooperation mechanism at the leader’s level, this meeting drew up the future of the cooperation. As commerce chambers, China would like to establish Lancang-Mekong River Business Council to further promote trades and investments among the six countries located along the Lancang and Mekong rivers.

For the China- ASEAN Cross-Border E-commerce Platform, the platform, also known as www.eshopasean.com was hosted by CCPIT, Suning Group and some ASEAN business associations in September 2015, with the aim of building a portal for cross-border transactions of on merchants and consumers on both sides. The on-line goods include food, health products, daily necessities, beauty care and other categories, covering 9 ASEAN countries. The trading volume reached 100,000 since its on-line test operation in September 2016. China hope Cambodian products can appear on the platform through CCC support in the nearly future.
