At the outset, H.E Nguon Mengt Tech warmly welcomed the presence of MCCM delegation and commented that Malaysia is a long old friend of Cambodia in the region with close and harmonious diplomatic and business relations. The presence of the delegation was a remarkable positive sign of Cambodia.
DATO’MOHAMAD ALAYUDDIN BIN CHE HASAN highly appreciated H.E Nguon Meng Tech and his colleagues for their hospitality. He informed that the purpose of the meeting was to explore business opportunity between Malaysia and Cambodia, study the technical details of paddy cultivation project, identify land for hostel project and extend social services to the Muslim Community in Cambodia.
H.E Nguon Meng Tech said that 80% of land in Cambodia is available for agriculture-related investment such as rice, rubber and cassava plantation. The land concession in Cambodia is obtained from the government for the duration of 75 to 99 years. Currently, the priority sectors of the royal government are (1) agriculture, (2) tourism, (3) small scale manufacturing, and (4) construction. For agriculture sector, if the investors register through Special Economic Zone (SEZ), they get 100% tax free. H.E Nguon Meng Tech encouraged the Malaysian investors to look at Kompong Thom, Prey Veng and Svay Rieng provinces for paddy cultivation project because there is still more available land for cultivation. In this particular aspect, CCC is pleased to connect the delegate with its members and assist and support them in any ways possible.
Finally, H.E Nguon Meng extended his appreciation to the delegate for having interest in Cambodia business market. CCC is always welcome and gives assistance to all investors for future cooperation.
