H.E Ruby Marks, Ambassador of South Africa to the Kingdom of Thailand had a meeting with H.E Nuong Meng Tech, Director General of Cambodia Chamber of Commerce, on March 12, 2014. During the meeting H.E Ambassador recalled a good relation between Cambodia and South Africa. However, she noticed that the trade volume between both countries still not reach the satisfied level yet. In this regard, she proposed some initiatives to boost the trade activities namely technical team survey, appointment of South Africa honoree business council in Cambodia, business matching, and business trips between both countries.

At the first stage, the technical team from South Africa will visit Cambodia in the near future to conduct a survey on what have been in place to support South Africa investment in Cambodia. Then they go back to South Africa and make a presentation to South Africa investors. At the same time, reputable local businessmen will be honored to be honoree council for South Africa investment. The council will provide insight about Cambodia business opportunity to South Africa investors. With appropriate amount of data and information, South Africa investors will come to Cambodia for business matching with Cambodia businessmen based on area of strength and interest. Then it is expected that Cambodia Chamber of Commerce (CCC) will lead a delegate to South Africa.

H.E Nguon Meng Tech, Director General of CCC, expressed his full support to Ambassador's initiatives. CCC would provide assistance to technical team in any way possible during their survey in Cambodia. For honoree council, CCC will coordinate among its members for interested candidates. Following the business matching with South Africa, CCC will arrange a business trip to South Africa at a suitable time frame. The face to face meeting between businessmen might be the only best way for them to explore business opportunity, feel the true partner and make good connections.
