Mr. Seiroku Takizawa, vice-chairman of Sapporo Chamber of Commerce had a meeting with H.E Nguon Meng Tech, director general of Cambodia Chamber of Commerce on March 21, 2011 to explore business opportunity and study the current status of Cambodia economy. Mr. Seiroku Takizawa travels around the world to build up Japan’s business relation. He observes that Cambodia economy potential is huge. In this regard, he would like to strengthen the business cooperation with Cambodia.

H.E Nguon Meng Tech said that there are a lot of potential areas in Cambodia. The government of Cambodia and the government of Japan have signed MOU on investment protection already. He suggested Japanese to invest in two main areas: electronic assembly line, and housing for Japanese retirees. It is because Japan is specialized in electronic products and so far no electronics factory established in Cambodia yet. The labor force in Cambodia is cheap and compatible compared to other countries. The young Cambodian learns things fast, particularly in the field of IT or electronics. He also recommended the investment on retired houses or vacation residents for Japanese retirees on coastal provinces. At the same time, there should be an investment on nursing facilities there to support and do health care for elderly
