PHI Group in coordination with Cambodia Chamber of Commerce (CCC) held a seminar on opportunities for Cambodian companies to raise capital through the U.S and European stock markets at the Cambodiana Hotel on June 03, 2010. In the opening remark, Oknha Hann Khieng, vice-president of CCC, stressed the importance of stock market in daily life and how beneficial it was. He added, “since the stock market is new to Cambodia, everyone is wondering how it works. This seminar would be the gateway to solve those questions in mind.”

Following the opening remarks, Mr. Henry D. Fahman, the Chairman & CEO of PHI Group.,Inc, delivered his presentation on overview of PHI Group, the benefit of being a public company, and how to go public. He said a company could go public by Initial Public Offerings (IPO) or Reverse Merger. To trade on stock exchange, that company needs to be listed there. NASDAQ OMX, for example, has over 3,700 global listings. According to Mr. Brian Xia, Managing Director of NASDAQ OMX for Asia Pacific, NASDAQ OMX provides listing, trading, clearing, information services, and global technology. NASDAQ powers more than 70 markets globally.

During Q&A session, some questions related to legal aspect, benefits of going public, and stock market terminologies, were raised by participants.
The seminar finished at 12 o’clock in the same date. It was considered as a good starting point.
