Neak Oknha Kith Meng, president of Cambodia Chamber of Commerce, participated in the preliminary discussion meeting on the preparation of the 2012 ASEAN-EU Business Forum and Dialogue with ASEAN Economic Minister and EU Trade Commission. This meeting was held at Ministry of Commerce on January 05, 2012 under the chairmanship of H.E Cham Prasidh, Senior Minister, Minister of Commerce. The EU commission, EU Ambassadors, EU private sectors, and Cambodia private sectors were invited to participate in this meeting. The meeting was to obtain inputs and to discuss the possibility of 2nd ASEAN-EU Business Forum in Cambodia.
H.E Cham Prasidh briefed the background of ASEAN-EU Business Forum and the importance of cooperation between ASEAN and EU. He said, “There are a lot of incentives and benefits that investors gain from this forum. For instance, they could make recommendations to the ASEAN-EU governments to solve any issues or barriers on their business. They also have the opportunities to obtain information on market access.” H.E Senior Minster made a presentation on tentative agenda and requested for inputs.
Neak Oknha Kith Meng, president of Cambodia Chamber of Commerce, fully supports the initiative of Ministry of Commerce for the ASEAN-EU Business Forum in Cambodia. He said, “This is the first time for Cambodia to host ASEAN-EU Business Forum. This would provide opportunity for Cambodia and EU investors to exchange ideas and learn from each other the investment policy. This event will be broadcasted live on TV.” “The task forces will be established to facilitate this event and to discuss about the theme. We hope to create a good name for Cambodia to host this event successfully,” he added.
