A delegation of Vietnam investors led by Vietnam Intellectual Property Association(IPA) had a meeting on November 28, 2011 with Cambodia Chamber of Commerce’s members. IPA team studied the investment climate and taxation system in Cambodia from their counterparts, CCC. Both Vietnamese and Cambodian businessmen learned from each other the Intellectual Property and Mark protection under each country law. Vietnam delegates consist of 18 companies. They are looking for local partners: steel trading, coffee manufacturing, veterinary preparation for aqua-industry, instant soup and foods, medical manufacturing and trading, electric construction service, enterprise consultant, education service, home decoration, etc.
In his opening remark, H.E Nguon Meng Tech, director general of CCC, stressed the importance of the continued growth relationship between the two countries. Cambodia and Vietnam economy is complimentary. The import-export volume almost reaches $700 million dollars in the first eight months of this year. In this regard, he believes that this business to business meeting would contribute to enhanced business relation. CCC will provide any necessary assistance for Vietnam investors who want to do business in Cambodia.
Mr. Lai xuan Chien, Minister Counselor of Vietnam Embassy, has the same view as H.S Nguon Meng Tech. He said Cambodia and Vietnam have been working hand on hand to develop economy, trade, and investment relation. Vietnam sees Cambodia as a good neighbor and partner. So far the bilateral cooperation includes varied sectors: agriculture, hydro power, oil and gas, rubber plantation, tourism, and education. Mr. Lai encourages businessmen from both sides to explore their potential partners and make use of this business to business meeting.
