Phnom Penh: On September 15, 2026, Neak Oknha Kith Meng, President of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce and Chair of ASEAN-BAC Cambodia, had a working lunch meeting with His Excellency Steven Pang, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Singapore to the Kingdom of Cambodia.
This working lunch meeting was to discuss the promotion business and investment cooperation between Cambodia and Singapore, exchanging in-depth perspectives on business opportunities, regional economic integration, and strengthening the partnership between the private sectors of both countries. Particularly, as Singapore prepares to assume the ASEAN Chairmanship in 2027, this meeting clearly underscored the importance of building closer private sector cooperation to prepare for capturing new opportunities and enhancing regional economic resilience. Furthermore, both parties discussed and actively exchanged views on strategic regional issues within ASEAN, focusing mainly on attracting investment from Singapore to Cambodia across various potential sectors, notably: 1) ASEAN Power Grid, aimed at enhancing energy security and promoting clean energy connectivity in the region; and 2) Food Security, with the goal of strengthening resilience and ensuring the stability of food supply chains for the entire ASEAN community.
