H.E Gennady Svidersky, Deputy Minister of Industry of Republic of Belarus, led a business delegates from Belarus to have business matching with members of Cambodia Chamber of Commerce (CCC) on March 25, 2014. The delegates consist of manufacturers of agricultural equipment, agricultural fertilizer, pharmacy product, automobile tire, and alcohol drink. H.E Gennady Svidersky elaborated Belarusian investors’ intent to expand business operation in Cambodia. Currently Belarus is the first and the only country investing in tractor assembly plant in Cambodia. The plant will supply the tractors to local market and to the whole ASEAN countries in the future. Based on this successful joint venture, Belarus is now looking closely into to other areas such as rubber, tobacco, medicine, alcohol drink, and fertilizer. In this regard, Embassy of Republic of Belarus and Belarus Chamber of Commerce will work with CCC to explore potential business partners.
Neak Oknha Kith Meng, President of Cambodia Chamber of Commerce, fully agreed with H.E Gennady Svidersky’s intent to enhance trade promotion in all sectors between both countries. He also encourages Belarusian businessmen to invest in agriculture related sector which is the priority sector set by the Royal Government of Cambodia, particularly rice production and exportation. CCC will select its members based on areas of interest of Belarusian businessmen. CCC will lead a delegate to Belarus during Cambodia Prime Minister visit in April. It is expected that CCC will meet Belarus Chamber of Commerce there for further cooperation.
